Use a single person, full-body or upper-body, facing the camera or at a slight angle. Good lighting and an uncluttered background help the model separate you from the scene. Avoid heavy motion blur, extreme angles, and cropped limbs—keep your shoulders, hips, and the area the garment should cover visible. For the garment, a clear photo of the item on its own (flat lay or product shot) works best. Mirror selfies work if the reflection is sharp and your outline is unobstructed.

DRAPAI generates try-ons with Google’s virtual try-on model on Vertex AI. Results depend on the inputs: objects in front of the body (bags, crossed arms), hair over the torso, sheer or highly reflective fabrics, and unusual poses can reduce accuracy. The model can produce texture, folds, or details that look plausible but do not match the real garment exactly. Layered outfits, open jackets, and asymmetric draping are harder than a single garment. Some photos are blocked by the provider’s safety filters (for example, images of minors or public figures). A result is an illustration, not a guarantee of real-world drape or tailoring.

Most try-ons finish after a short wait; the exact time depends on the AI provider’s load and your connection. You do not need to keep the processing screen open—finished results appear under Recently Generated. A token is reserved when a try-on starts and used only if it finishes; if a try-on fails or is cancelled, the token is returned (for a stalled job this can take a while).

Uploads are encrypted in transit and at rest, processed to generate your try-on (via Supabase, n8n Cloud, and Google Cloud Vertex AI), and held in private account-scoped cloud storage only for a limited time. Generated outputs are typically deleted about 12 hours after a job finishes; failed jobs within about 72 hours; unfinished provisional uploads typically within about 1 hour. We do not host a cloud browsing library of your photos—optional wardrobe/poses in the app stay on your device unless you select them for a try-on. We do not use customer uploads or generated images to train or fine-tune generative AI models. Limited technical telemetry (e.g., error rates) may be logged for reliability. No. DRAPAI shows how a garment could look on you; it does not measure your body, give fit scores, or recommend sizes. The model works from 2D photos, so it cannot know your real measurements or how a brand’s sizing runs. Use try-ons to compare styles and colours, and check the retailer’s size chart before buying.

Personal and commercial use of renders you generate is allowed under our Terms, subject to rights in the underlying garment imagery (catalog shots you do not own may still carry third-party restrictions). You may not use outputs to misrepresent fit in regulated advertising where substantiation is required, or to create deceptive endorsements. When in doubt, confirm rights to the garment assets and your jurisdiction’s marketing rules.

No. A phone camera is sufficient. A tripod or stable surface reduces blur; even lighting (window or soft lamp) beats harsh overhead spots. You do not need a depth sensor, green screen, or studio setup.
